To live as
neighbors to God and one another in order to explore Kingdom
community as a means of loving and equipping one another, with a
view to each of us growing into our full potential in
discovering and living our unique dreams, callings and giftings
— to express God’s Kingdom in its creative diversity.
The
center of our vision is LOVE:
to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul,
with all our mind, and with all our strength, and to love our
neighbor as we love ourselves (Matt 22:37-39).
Why
the symbol of the field?
The
Field comes from Matthew 13:44 and the purchase of the original
farm. It is the place where we live and work out our
relationships with God and one another as a means to pursuing
God’s kind of life together. The field (embodied in the farm)
is the symbol of our relationships. The more we share life
together in growing relationships, the more we discover and
unpack God’s wealth—the diverse personalities, gifts and
callings in one another—for the common good. These are the
treasures of God’s life and rule among us, discovered and
experienced in one another through the quality of our
relationships. The more we discover these ‘treasures of the
Kingdom of Heaven’, the more we are prepared to give up
everything to further explore and share God’s Kingdom. We do
not see the riches that come out of our relationships being
primarily for ourselves, but ultimately for achieving God’s
purposes in serving and empowering others beyond ourselves.
